Company Directors Rob and Heather Hill are unashamed classic car nuts! Yes, we do have a modern utilitarian estate car - it’s a Honda Accord diesel and it is an extremely efficient workhorse. However there is nothing like driving a responsive sports car,  preferably one with a bit of character. Our first sports car was a 2002 Morgan 4/4 2-seater bought new from Lifes Motors in Southport. This car has now done almost 47,000 miles which is a testament to how much we enjoy it. With the small exception of limited luggage space (more of which later) it is a superb car for touring. There really is nothing better than alpine passes in an open car; you really feel part of the scenery you are passing through.

In 2005 we decided that it might be fun to have a go at some classic rallies, in particular the Scottish Malts. The Morgan was too new as the regulations at that time called for a pre-’74 car so we set out to find a suitable car. Once we drove an Elan we knew our search was over and we bought a 1973 Elan Sprint FHC from Paul Matty Sports Cars in Bromsgrove. We had a rear roll cage and full harnesses fitted before delivery and I fitted the fire extinguisher and the rally trip meter. We competed on our first rally, the Scottish Malts, one week before our wedding in May 2006. At every control we were greeted with “is the wedding still on?”. We had a great time, won the newcomers award and were hooked.

In 2009 the Morgan and the Elan were joined by a 1997 Mazda MX5 Mk1 which is responsive and fun to drive.

We travel a lot with our Morgan and became more and more frustrated with the packing traumas associated with soft bags and the inevitable collection of carrier bags. Clothes were always crumpled, but the biggest hassle was trying to fit everything back into the car after each night of a touring holiday. We wanted something that would always fit and would keep our clothes neat. We searched the market and found nothing suitable so, as a resourceful engineer, I designed my own solution and found somebody to make cases to my design. This ended our packing traumas and we were able to travel in peace with our sports car. The story might have ended there but for other Morgan owners talking me into putting the fitted cases into production. The rest, as they say, is history and we now make fitted luggage for over 45 different cars.
